Damian Stamer’s works examine the landscape he explored as a child in rural North Carolina. He uses the pastoral imagery of his childhood to construct interpretations of memory, time, and space. His almost abstract drawings originate from memories of farms, pastures, and forests. He utilizes different tools to accomplish brush strokes, splashes, and drips that characterize his paintings. Stamer currently lives and works in New York and in North Carolina.
